Mbita Roadside Kiosk and Open Area Stall Owners CBO was established on 6th September 2017 as a non-political, non-profit community-based organization to promote the collective interests of small-scale traders and stall owners in Mbita, Kenya. The CBO was formed to champion economic empowerment, sustainable development, environmental protection, and access to health and social services for its members and the broader roadside community.

Mission:To empower members through sustainable development initiatives.

Motto:Committed towards the collective interest of members.

Since its inception, the CBO has represented approximately 187 kiosk and open-area stall owners across Mbita. The organization also works to foster strong relations with regulatory bodies such as the Municipality, NEMA, NTSA, and the police, ensuring that members operate in a secure and legally recognized environment. It also champions environmental sustainability through tree planting and other green initiatives.

While the organization currently has no salaried full-time staff, it operates through the commitment of its board and over 30 active volunteers from the local community who contribute to programs and outreach.
